Artist or band you wish you could've seen in concert but...

I had this conversation with some friends not long ago and thought it was kind of interesting. So is there a band or artist that you wish you could've seen in concert but never had the chance? Perhaps a legendary group that was before your time or someone who died young or a band who you loved but they broke up for whatever reason?

For me, I'd have to go with The Clash. I was just a baby when they peaked so I guess they fall into the just a little bit before my time category. Still, their music is timeless and they are a major influence for so many great punk bands. It would've been cool to see a show when they were in their prime.

Nick Drake...He's dead now, and he nearly never even played live in life anyway. But my God he was spectacular, and if I came across him playing live I just wouldn't be able to move, or breathe, or anything and it would be all right because time would stand still for him.
Clannad. They're all pretty old by now, so by the time I get out of here one of them will probably be dead, unfortunately. And you know they'll never come to Alaska lol
3 Doors Down. Well you know THEY won't come to Alaska lol
Aine Minogue. She is spectacular, if you like Celtic music you have to look her up. I just wish I could somehow see her live, but no, I know that'll never happen...*sigh*

Omg. I think for me it would be the Kelly Family, a band who was very famous band from Ireland but they only seem to be famous in Germany, weirdly enough.
Anyways I would have liked to see them live cause they're great. Now it's too late as they are no longer together ... one even went int oa monestry.

I would love to see Max Tundra, an electronica artist. I just love his voice and his music is so eccentric.
I would also like to see Depeche Mode live. Dave Gahan's voice is soooooooo sexy!

I wish I could have been able to see les paul, stevie ray, pink floyd with roger waters, the beatles, the ramones, muddy waters, the clash, queen, michael jackson, etc. but most of all, I wish I had been able to see Jimi Hendrix.

The only artist I would've really loved to see is John Denver. I'm not much of a concert-goer, and he was the only one who would've been entirely worth it for me. There are other groups/artists I like, but studio albums are good enough for me.

Cool topic.

I'd love to have seen The Beatles and Elvis in their day. I've seen the Eagles a couple times since they've gotten back together, but I've read a lot about music of the 60's and 70's and would love to have seen the Eagles and other groups
such as Crosby, Nash, Stills, and Young in small clubs as they were just forming.

Oooo thanks for reminding me of Nightwish! And on a totally different note, Andy McKee, just to see if he really can play like that live.

Post 21 by Kathy Fraggle (Zone BBS is my Life) on Thursday, 05-Aug-2010 12:10:58

I want to sit and watch Jordan Rudess improvise, or listen to Andy McKee play guitar live.
